The Sweet Saturday

At last, the week is over.

I am so glad that it was finally the weekend. I stayed up late last night, but managed to wake up at 8am. I was highly motivated by the fact that it was my turn to vacuum the floor, and my parents weren't home. This means it was the perfect time for me to vacuum the floor.

One hour later, I was having coffee and biscuits for breakfast. My sister and I also discussed some bible verses. Once that was done, I started my research for my Malaysian Studies project.

For the assignment, my group of four have to write an essay about the formation of the local government in Malaysia. We have to write about its history, the types of local governments and the duties of the local governments. As I am the leader on this project, it is a new experience for me.

That's why I have to start researching. It would be embarrassing if I didn't get any research done, while my teammates did their research. However, I haven't done a lot of research, I'm too busy enjoying my Saturday.

At 12pm, I had the house to myself for awhile. Mummy had gone for her photography class, while my sister had daddy drop her off for her Young Adults Meeting. For a good first week of college, I gave myself a break. I spent the afternoon relaxing and watching Netflix. I even cooked, and enjoyed a bowl of instant noodles.

Once mummy was home, we had dinner. By then, it was 5pm. We had a Baked Egg Cup, which contains several types of fried vegetables and chicken pieces. It was yummy, but I'm not sure whether it was enough for dinner. I might have to eat something later.

Right now, I need to finish up this post, before getting back to my research. I can't let myself be too lazy.

YMCA Street Feeding- Day 3

Today was my second time volunteering at YMCA. I did the same thing as the last time, helping to prepare and serve the food, but I had new experiences which led to more observations. I sang a song! This was something new for me, as I am normally not comfortable singing in front of others. However, as I was serving the food, I was suddenly asked by the music team whether I wanted to sing a song. I think they were running out of songs to sing, as I was pressured into singing a song. I was panicking, and the only song that I could remember clearly was Jesus Loves Me, as I recently sang that. Even though it was a Sunday School song, and I thought that I would be laughed at for singing such a simple song, it was surprisingly well received. I could see smiles on the street people's faces, and some of them were even singing along. I could see that all of them enjoyed it. Sadly, I could not think of any other songs once I was done, so I got back to serving the food. This experience

Temptations

After college today, my mummy, sister and I had a chat. We talked about how am I settling into college, how was my day and how were my classes like. Then, we talked about something interesting for me. During lunch today, some of my classmates invited me to join them for lunch at a nearby shopping centre. This will require us to leave campus, which is allowed. However, I had books to buy and other things to do, so I turned down the offer. My mummy and sister told me that I should never join them on these kind of outings. Once I start, I may start having bad habits, such as skipping class or not studying hard. Then, I will fail my exams or not get good results, resulting in a waste of a year. They say that I should not put myself in temptation. Mummy even let me use her as an excuse. This means I can just tell my classmates my mother does not let me leave campus, and she is strict about this rule. It sounds like as if my mummy and sister are trying to be controlling, not lett

Malaysian Studies

It's currently 11:22pm. It's late, and I need to finish this post so that I can go to bed. Today has been tiring. Normally, Saturday would be an easy day. It would be a day spent on catching up on my work from college. However, I had to go to college. I had extra classes for, out of all of my subjects, Malaysian Studies, which is basically Malaysian History. It's one of the subjects that I have to pass, which is stressful for me. Classes started at 9am, and ended at 3pm, with a lunch break. Surprisingly, it wasn't too boring. We studied the Portuguese Colonisation of Malacca, the British Colonisation of Penang and Singapore and the reasons why they did so. It was interesting to learn, but the malay names were a bit confusing for me. I was also cold and sneezed a lot, which I think is due to Mummy passing her flu germs to me. This did not help me to focus on the lesson. Our lecturer also has the tendency to suddenly use malay phrases when she's teaching. Luck
